September observations

A few observations from perusing this board and a few others the past coupe days...

- The Modern section of the B/S/T here has some serious cards in it. I feel like it wasn't long ago that the section was pretty much ignored, but I noticed a number of high end modern for sale there, including one of those color versions of the 2011 Trout. I know sellers are surely posting all over the place for these, but it does strike me that a vintage board might be ripe for some modern cards these days.

- Football is back... and a number of people have noted the typical fall swoon for baseball cards has begun thanks to it. The market has been hot, and I also think that now that live sports have returned in a wide spread manner, more wide spread gambling is available and that could be something to consider. Gamblers, perhaps, have helped fuel the huge run up in cards over the past six months, as they had money to burn and nothing to burn it on.

- I probably shouldn't have done this, but I checked out the prices on some cards I sold in recent years for where they are now. Some have jumped up nearly five times in a really short amount of time. Part of me wishes I had rode them out, but I'll take the consolation prize of knowing that some of the cards I bought with the proceeds would be unattainable today if I didn't buy them in recent years.

- Funny enough, some other cards haven't seemed to move at all, despite the overall recent financial gains in the hobby.
