We see a lot of threads about T's, E's and N's.....throw in a few D's, R's and W's and that is most of what we collect.

That being said I have recently gotten into picking up a few premiums. They seem to be cheap (relatively speaking) and, depending on which you do, can have a lot of top tier HOF'ers.....Here is one I picked up...besides those mentioned in the first part, what do you collect? And here is a premium on it's way into me...I thought it was neat.

Gorgeous picture there Leon. Enjoy.

May I ask out of ignorance -- what exactly is a "premium"?

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure I overpaid for this, but they don't come up too often:

Defining "Premium" with regard to baseball cards is sort of like defining a baseball card itself; a bit nebulous. I think of Premiums as something given out to promote something. Many times they are oversized and many times they are not part of a "set" (though many are part of a set). Premiums don't have to be "cards or paper" either but could be little baseball bats, statues or anything else. As far as my collecting of them, I only collect ones made of paper. Also, most times something(s) would have to be sent in, in order to receive the premium. Hope that helps a little bit.

Now, did someone say "S".....;)

It's a S81 large silk like the Mathewson a few posts above, only not as nice.

I will take a picture this weekend, but I have bought some nice M114's for my son's room. I have them framed and on the wall with a few more to add. My frame guy shut down, so it may be a while until the next batch is ready.
I have the following:
Gehrig Port
Joe D Batting
Dickey Batting

unframed:
Lazzeri both shots
Ruth Batting
Gehrig Batting
