1932 NFL Championship / Chicago vs Portsmouth

Picked up a December 17 Saturday 1932 Chicago Daily News Sports Page previewing the "NFL" Championship game being played in the Chicago Stadium. I found this quote from Red Grange astounding...."Grange made the prediction that the great football crowds of coming years would attend professional games staged indoors at night". Was this game played indoors at the Stadium due to weather or was the early NFL leaders seriously considering playing indoor football? If there is any football collector interested in this item happy to consider selling or trading. The photo is the Blackhawks goalie. The paper is condition is poor but still a cool item if matted and framed.

Played inside due to extreme cold and snow. The field was only something like 80 yards in length. Because of this the teams would switch ends once they crossed the 50 yard line so there was still 50 more yards to go! Also, since the side lines had very little room, the ball was moved away from the sides when a player went out of bounds. This led to the creation of hash marks on the field in future years. Before this when player went out of bounds, the ball was put in play near the sideline.
