1958 Topps Yellow Name Aaron ????
1958 Topps Yellow Name Aaron ???? MY eyes may be going , but I'm not color blind. Looks like White Name to me. PSA got it wrong and now seller is trying to sell it as a "Yellow Name "

From what I can see on a large monitor, the letters in the name are half white and half yellow. Accordingly I might pay half price for it.

It's a big mess up, for sure. The yellow ink is misaligned so you can see where it bleeds into the obviously white name. It is nothing but a color shift print defect. If the name was actually yellow, you wouldn't be able to see where the yellow ends...because the entire green background and the name itself would be 'full' of yellow and no white would be a part of it. The graders really dropped the ball.

This is reminiscent of a dealer in Philadelphia when I was 12, who convinced me that the "yellow name" on this card referred to the team name. A few weeks later, I realized I had been duped. Maybe this same dealer is now an advisor to PSA, LOL.

There was a 58 YL Kaline identified as white letter a couple of months ago. It sold at a YL price.
PSA has made mistakes on labels, but they do provide you a chance to review it before grading now. Side note, I do have an Aaron YL PSA 4 BIN on ebay that I will sell to Net54 members off ebay for 15% less than listed price (net to me). |
Are yellow and white that big of a price difference still? I thought they kinda sorta met halfway and settled in as even .... I could be wrong however
But yes, that looks white to me |
