Lefty Gomez

I just picked up a Lefty Gomez George Burke postcard that said it had a preprinted auto on it. I got it yesterday and the auto is actually a real autograph. That being said I looked up Gomez's autographs and most of his autos the G in Gomez looks totally different. I looked at PSA examples and it shows two different autos as his signature. What I'm wanting to know is did his signature change over the years? I'll post a photo later today of mine.

His signature did change...most notably from a large lower cased g in Gomez which was utilized more during his playing days, to a capital G which was consistent with more of his post-career autographs

Yeah the one I have has the G as like a looping circle at the top and then a hook at that bottom where the others I saw look more like an uppercase G. The first example looks like the one I just received, the second version looks like all the others I saw. These are both from PSA website.

Yes, the lowercase g in the PSA example is a vintage "playing career" example. Not sure when it changed to the upper case G. Although in my vintage examples the y does not flow directly into the g as it does in the PSA example...all of mine show a distinct separation between first and last name.

That's a beautiful vintage/dark sig, congrats on the addition!

Thanks I was picking it up just because I like the Burke postcards (unused) and the listing said it was preprinted which I thought was odd because most Burke postcards are actually signed. So for $25 I thought it was a fair deal.

Also thanks for all the help Tom, very much appreciated!
