Please REA post a preview!

Is there any chance that we will see a preview of REA's approaching auction?

I've never understood the point of previews for online auctions (all of them, not just REA). What's the point? Come look at our auction, then come back in a week to place a bid? For as long as these auctions run, there's plenty of time to take it all in. JMO.

While I get your point of an auction being opened for a long time, the longer the preview is open, the more chance it gives buyers to save up for that key piece. Case in point, when I got my E92 Nadja Wagner, I knew about it about two months before the auction went live. Without that extra two months, I likely wouldn't have been able to save enough in time to afford it. I've actually been holding off on a purchase right now because I know of 2 cards in the next REA auction that I would prefer to go after. If you are looking for things that come up every month, that may not be a big deal, but if you are looking for something that only comes up every few years and you'll need to save for it, you don't want to lose out cause you bought something else the week before.

With both Leland’s and Heritage ending just before the date for REA I would really like to know what REA is offering because I might blow all the money I have set aside in the other 2 auctions before REA ends. That being said the anticipation of what is to be offered is part of REA’s m.o. so they are unlikely to change it up.

I suspect we will know soon.

Hey, you are talking about an auction where grown men post time and again about their excitement sniffing the catalog. Or hearing the postman drop it on the floor and getting, shall we say, physically aroused. Watch it buddy. Treading on very thin ice here.

Hey, for some of us the world revolves on such a sniff and a thump.

That’s exactly what is being talked about. And the hype is worth it. Always a fantastic offering. And yes, the smell. It is real.

I think I'm like a lot of collectors in that I'm willing to devote some significant financial resources to a purchase, but I need to plan ahead. I don't have unlimited funds, so if I go after one card, it may prevent me from going after other cards in other auctions. That's why it's really helpful for me to see previews - I've had to pass on REA items in the past because I was too heavily invested in other auctions.

Just my two cents...

Most of us are in the same boat. I certainly am. Who knew a daughters wedding would cost 50k? And we don't need to talk about that SMU Masters Degree.....it isn't cheap either. SO yes, previews are great and my guess is the REA bidding will start today as their website says. My hope is a few cards I have my eye on will garner less bids as there are so many auctions going on right now.
