KO credits Bob Lemke.

What are your thoughts?

Really interesting. Not sure of all the details around the memo but a huge effort and discovery by Mr. Lemke.

I thought it was a great segment. I'm sure everyone has guessed at some time or another, who was supposed to be pictured on the missing cards. I always figured Stan Musial was one of the missing. So, I was surprised to see the list of names and his name not on the list. Still, I thought the segment was fantastic. I love that 53 set.

Some mysteries are better unsolved. Kind of underwhelming.

Olberman's audience must have been thunderstruck --

Nice investigative find by Lemke...so, his first thought must have been to contact Keith, i guess. This reminded me of an article that appeared in the Autumn, 1981 issue of SCD that speculated on the missing cards. It focused only on three specifically, one of which was a possible Andy Pafko card.

Sorry about the poor readability. If anyone wants a better view, PM me and i can send a larger copy.

I can't take credit for the ""find." The Topps page fell into my lap from the collector to whom it was originally mailed in 1973 by a Topps executive.

I contacted KO initially to see if he had the Hoot Evers art; it's the only one I hadn't seen. He thought it worthy of note on his show.

The images of the Castiglione and Cox art from BBC Magazine are not of the quality I'd like to have to produce custom cards. I may have an original 4x5 color transparency of them somewhere.
