Posted By: tbob
Are D311s (Pacific Coast Biscuits) actually that rare? I haven't received even a nibble from my post in the B/S/T thread asking if anyone had any for sale. Luckily I bought 3 from Leon and another from a collector from his website, other than that, zilch the last 6 months...

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter
Hi Bob,
In my opinion D311's are difficult, but they are by no means rare . In fact, quite a few have popped up on Ebay and other places in the past few months. Having collected a few here and there, it's my experience that D310's are the tougher of the two to find. Maybe there's just fewer available because more people are collecting them now then in the past?

-Adam

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
I think these are tougher than people think. If you are looking for a type, then they aren't too bad, but if you are looking for one particular guy, then they are incredibly tough. I have been looking for a Roy Castleton from the D311 set forever (and am still interested in one) and have never come across one. I know what it looks like because of the VCBC photo checklist that they had a while back. About D310's being tougher than D311's, I personally haven't found that to be true. I have seen them in roughly equal numbers. When you do find them (D310's and D311's) however they are usually in small groups of 2-10 cards, usually not too many more. Esthetically the D311's are nicer, but the D310's have cooler pictures. That Vitt is a really nice one, I love the colors.
-Rhett

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
Also, on a side note about the BUY/SELL/TRADE thing. I know persoanlly I have noticed thie B/S/T threads are kinda dying. Most of the time when I post something for sale, or wanted--I hardly get any responses. I have asked for Colgans Chips many times (and I know these aren't too rare) and few if anybody ever responds. However, when a E-card is listed on that B/S/T thread it is gobbled up in seconds. Most people here (not all) collect the normal t-sets and caramel cards. There are some type guys, but people never list 20's-30's stuff and even the 19th century B/S/T thread has about 1 post every 2-3 days. I know it will probably never happen (we have had this discussion before) but I really miss the days of the monthly B/S/T thread.

Since not too many people actually utilize the B/S/T thread anymore, I always feel like am monopolizing it if I list a few things for sale, or wanted. I am interested in hearing from others if they have had much luck concerning Wanted threads, because I hardly ever do. I have bought many things from For Sale threads, but only had minimal luck with the wanted ones. Then again, maybe I'm just asking for the wrong stuff.

-Rhett

Posted By: Matthew Jackson
D310s seem to be a little more difficult IMO. They don't appear to attract many collectors though, maybe just due to their size because the pictures are great. The colors of the D311 are just about unmatched. After shooting an offer to Bob, anyone feel free to send a few my way!
