Seaver Rookie Questions

I was at a card show and they have a Seaver Rookie not graded. I trust the seller, but thought I would get some information from the forum.

1) Card has four sharp corners, centering is 50/50 top to bottom, 80/20 left to right. What approximate grade would this get with this type of centering?

2) What is a fair price for a raw card in this type condition?

Thanks for the help.

$700? Prices from ebay sold all over the place. If I was in love I'd probably think 7.

Prices for Seaver rookie cards are batsh*t crazy right now (and have always been?), so without knowing the situation, I have to imagine he's gotta be looking to get much more than a grand for it, right? I would continually harp on the 80/20 centering and what that does to a graded card's value. You can check past sales of graded or ungraded cards with similar centering (or ones with OC qualifiers) to get an idea of what a similar cards go for. Of course, the time and expense of getting it graded would have to be factored in as well.

Such a (rightfully) celebrated card. Good luck!!!

Even if it's that off-centered, it still could be trimmed to sharpen the edges/corners. Make sure it measures properly. Might get an 8(OC) or a straight 5-6 with that centering.

While probably the big 2, there's more to a card than centering and corners when determining a grade n value. Also consider gloss, scuffs, marks, fisheye, tanning/staining, and possible miscut (some '67's can be factory MC- large). Having said that, value could range $500-1,700.

The Seaver is key to the '67 set and falls in that "buy it if it's great and you love it" category IMO. Of course the price should be reasonable. It's good news that someone is holding a show. Everything in my neck of the woods was cancelled this spring.
