ticket stub help please

Folks,

I found this ticket stub in a binder mixed in with a bunch of 1993 topps cards at a thrift shop. I know nothing about tickets and could not find something similar via a Google search. So I figured I'd reach out to the fine folks on this board.

Curious about value and whether it is worth getting it graded for resale purposes.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Mike

Hello Mike,
This is actually a pretty cool ticket and I would guess that it might be worth possibly $39-$49 for a number of reasons:
- 1957 was the last year of the Brooklyn Dodgers before their move to LA in 1958
- This ticket was to a double header and quite a few interesting things happened in the games: HOF Sandy Koufax pitched in game one, but got a no-decision (not unusual for Sandy in the 1950's as he hadn't come into his own yet). John Roseboro (Dodgers Catcher) got his 1st career HR, HOF Duke Snyder homered.

In the second game Sal "The Barber" Maglie pitched and got the win, HOF Ernie Banks homered as did HOF Duke Snyder.

I hope this helps...

Agreed, nice ticket from Dodgers last year in Brooklyn, and several interesting things happened in the double header. In game 1 the Dodgers beat the Cubs 6-3, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 10th with 2 HRs. I would say no more than $50, and I would not think it is worth slabbing.

Thanks very much

Guys,

Thank you very much for the information. You have piqued my interest to pull up the box score for the games on this date.

Gil Hodges Day

Hello Mike:
This was also Gil Hodges Day at the ballpark. Hodges a Brooklyn Dodgers fan favorite player, also drove in his 1,000 career RBI in that game. Along with a early career Koufax start with 11 strikeouts in this game, and Roseboro 1st career home run, this is a fabulous ticket…
