PM sent. Don't worry, I'm not buying it either

All,

I think this listing is a fraud. I believe it to be the same seller that was trying to sell the '58 Mantle last week. If you missed the thread, here it is...

If I'm wrong, I will edit my comment and apologize to the seller, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

My last email to seller after card was offered to me for $550. Will keep everyone posted...

"I'll take it for $550 if you'll ship it first. I've completed several deals on net54 and will happily send payment upon receipt. Would be about your only way to establish yourself on this forum...I've already received numerous warning messages from fellow members that this is a scam. Thanks and lmk

Dan"

Ball is in sellers court

Well, I was just alerted to this thread. I called the registration phone number on file even though this is usually much later than I would call. Something didn't smell good on this one. Whomever picked up the phone sounded quite surprised. I asked who it was, they said Jeff or Jess.....well here is their registration info

so I said, excuse me? And they asked who I was and I told them...they sputtered and hung up :)

Thanks, Leon!

I think this is Steven Dujardin, the guy that tried to sell the '58 Mantle a week or so ago. There are a lot of similarities including:

Both have AOL email addresses (Who uses AOL anymore? :D)
Both have 502 area codes
Both used the last name Smith to register

There are a few more, but I won't go into detail.

WARNING TO ALL: It was noted on one of the comic forums that this guy registered several different times with different usernames within a short amount of time to perpetrate his scam. He may be back again. Beware of first time sellers offering high dollar cards for a fraction of their retail value.

Someone may want to post this on the CU forums as well to warn those guys over there.

Yeah, I haven't heard anything back and don't anticipate I will. Good looking out Leon and fellow board members

No worries but I want to go ahead and move this to the front page so our members can see what is still going on. Probably the same idiot scammer but still......

You guys sure complain about fraud a lot. We should have a separate section for fraud reports so that the rest of us could get back to discussing cards.

Oh wait -- this douche doesn't take our consignments and through fraud run up the prices and make money for us. Never mind, carry on.

Only random unknown men are fair game, not our heroes.

Lichtman right on again, as usual.

As an aside, I still have an AOL email address. Over the years I've registered with so many places, I can't give it up. I am not a crook.
