Opinions Needed Please on Four Autos
A friend of mine asked me for my opinion on these four items, I initially said no when viewing on my phone, but as I looked at them on the computer in the correct orientation, I thought they had a chance (Mantles and Maris). I don't know anything about Honus Wagner though so I didn't even offer him an opinion. These were supposedly in storage since the 1980's when the owner shutdown his baseball card shop. Can you please let me know what you think on these.
Thanks in advance! Matt http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/1080/1515380.jpg http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/1080/1515381.jpg http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/1080/1515382.jpg http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/1080/1515383.jpg |
I personally would say the Mantles are good, but I am not nearly as educated as others on this board. Curious to see there opinions.

Mantles are good IMO.
Maris... I am still studying Maris, but appears likely okay. Wagner: Don't know |
Mantles are good.....

I thought you were comparison shopping some cars

Mantles:):):):):):):)
Maris, I agree with zip would not buy it unless in hand. |
Mantles look good to me.
I think the Maris is likely OK, but I'm not as comfortable with his autographs in general. I have seen Wagners that were authenticated by PSA and one sold by Stinson that looked very similar to that one. I'm not saying it's definitely good, but I can't say it's defintiely bad. (Wow. That was a real definitive answer by me. Wasn't it?) I guess what I'm saying it that I would wait for some others to chime in. |

Who else is on the Wagner ball?

One fuzzy picture with camera flash right on the signature just doesn't cut it for me. I think seeing the legitimacy of other autos could assist in a determination on the Wagner (or just provide more pictures of the Wagner itself). Anyone selling a legitimate ball with that kind of value would probably take the time to do it right.

The Wagner autograph looks nothing like the examples in Ron Keurajian's book just FYI.

I'm having a hard time with the other sigs, but I do see Kirby Higbe. He was traded to the Pirates from Brooklyn in 1947. It's possible this is a Pirates ball from when Wagner was a coach.

Wagner
It does match some of his later in life signatures I have seen. If the other signatures look good that would give me confidence
