Where Will Clayton Kershaw Be end of 2020

Any thoughts ??

Always thought New York Yankees or Boston. Maybe Houston he is from Texas and will be older. Idk fun to ponder.

packs 08-22-2018 09:21 AM

If his injuries continue he might be lucky to be pitching anywhere.

Peter_Spaeth 08-22-2018 09:36 AM

AAA doing rehab, at this rate, I agree. No way with all his postseason ssues does he want the pressure of NY.

Aquarian Sports Cards 08-22-2018 09:39 AM

Weird guy to speculate on. He loves the Dodgers and vice-versa.

Johnny630 08-22-2018 12:04 PM

Here is a Better Question Where Will Mike Trout Be end of 2020 ?

Increasing his WAR while sitting out with yet another injury.

TUM301 08-22-2018 01:15 PM

Not sure on Kershaw in 2020 but the Sox have some huge decisions coming up soon on Mookie Betts, Zander Bogearts and Sale. Money usually isn`t much of a problem in Boston but between these 3 could be in the 400+ mil neighborhood.

Sale's shoulder seems tricky. I wonder if it's going to be a long-term issue now.

+1

Staying the course to the question, I believe Kershaw retires.

Johnny630 08-22-2018 04:06 PM

I’m hope he has a Verlander like resurgence!

"Where Will Clayton Kershaw Be end of 2020?"

Who?

Where will be be at the end of 2018? It is not looking too good for him.

What on earth are you talking about??? Yes he's had back issues, but he's currently fine and his numbers, when he takes his turns in the rotation, have never suffered much. You make it seem like he's suffering some career threatening injury currently, or pitching poorly.

Yeah he pitches 6 innings every 6th day. Awesome.

The post I was reacting to implies he's going to fade into obscurity at the end of this year. That's just silly.

What team do you root for? I assume you wouldn't want Kershaw then?

Red Sox, we already have a fragile superstar lefty lol. Of course Kershaw is a great pitcher, but it bewilders me that for a big strong young guy he has become so delicate.

Johnny630 08-24-2018 09:25 PM

I’d take Kershaw on my team any day of the week and twice on Sunday’s.

Haters will hate lol

If he's pitched during the week he isn't available on Sunday.:D

You have your opinion and I have mine. Terrific guy, so it seems, and still a good pitcher but he is not at all what he once was. Besides what seems to be a back issue I think St. Louis in the playoffs a couple years ago really did a number on him mentally.

And as has been pointed out, he is not pitching many innings and he has a lot of rest between starts. I think that speaks volumes but I am guessing you are not taking that into account.

Aquarian Sports Cards 08-25-2018 09:30 PM

8 innings 7 hits no walks 9 k's 2 earned runs.

We have our Cy Young winner for 2018, no?

so if he is not top 5 contention for cy young he had a bad year. The fact the bar is so high shows you how dominant he is and has been. So what if he doesnt match is prime elite years. If he pitched 80% as good as he did in his elite years and only pitched at that 80% mark for his whole career, lets say 17 years...hes still in the Hall of fame as one of the greatest ever.

plus his best playoff pitching has been in the last 2 playoff years versus the prior years.....so hes only getting better in that area...

if a NL fantasy draft started tomorrow..he'd still be right there with Nola, Scherzer, Degrom. You want to talk about injuries....talk Strasburg...

So those are the only options for you? Cy Young or faded into obscurity by the end of the season???

Just trying to point out how silly you are for using a single game's stats to rebut my pov. Don't worry our BVG 10 Kershaw rookies still have value.

Aquarian Sports Cards 08-25-2018 10:30 PM

I was pointing out how silly

"Who?

Where will be be at the end of 2018? It is not looking too good for him. "

is.

Also if you'd like more than one game. When he went on the DL his ERA was 2.86, it's now 2.39. His WHIP was 1.10 it's now 1.00, His BAA was .237, it's now .220. Clearly he's washed up and has no future. I mean hell, he is 30...

Oh, and I don't own any modern cards.

Dewey 08-25-2018 11:59 PM

He'll be celebrating consecutive World Series championships with L.A.

Silly to judge someone on one season, given his extensive all star/cy young history and heck even this year is an excellent year...what gives?

Sign of things to come, hopefully, he's a joy to watch when he's on.

I would like to ask the same. What gives? I simply made an opinion based on my observations (one that was shared by a few guys here) and you and the other guy have made it personal as if I was insulting your moms.

My opinion is also influenced by a short interview I read in May or June with Kershaw and his own doubts about reaching certain milestones in baseball. It was almost depressing. Will see if I can find it.

nah....but the issue is moot now...theres lots of other pitchers you can talk about on the downside that are breaking down.......Kershaw is way too soon...let him actually be bad before jumping on him.... ..it seems personal with you against kershaw..

interesting tidbit is that kersaw evidently slipped in the draft to number 7 because his last high school start he was not lights out......Tim Lincecum actualy drafted right after him....for the first 2 years that Tim was in MLB you would think there is no way Kershaw would end up being 10x better than Tim but its all about sample size..

Now THAT is hilarious. How come there is no "rolls eyes" emoticon???!! I want a refund.

Sir, I am not against Kershaw, really. Again, I am just giving my OPINION. Just as you are. You know his favorite color and what he eats for breakfast so maybe you and the other guy are right.

there are opinions and there are OPINIONS. I can make an opinion now that Christian Yelich is slowing down and where will he be in 5 years. Cause heck, its only an opinion... Id probably want to save that argument for another player....same as you..

Boy do you ever like to argue. You remind me of my ex wife. Jen is that you? How can I get on your good side?

If everyone argues with you, it might not be everyone's issue...

So Jen used to argue with you about Kershaw as well? I wonder what other arguments you had with her, the use of the DH versus having the pitcher hit?

We were on the same page with the DH rules but could not agree on whether or not stealing bases is under utilized in the game today, for instance.

Yeah a disagreement to that issue is a marriage killer. I see that all too often and is one of the main reason 1 out of 2 marriages dont work out..

finally an option i can get behind on (not looking good this year tho). baseball arguments in this section are pointless...the launch angle and exit velocity on some of these posts are pathetic! the arguments are weak popups at best...

Ah come on. I am shocked. You mean we do not know as much as a scout, a player, a manager or an owner?
