2014 Topps Sparkle Variation...

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

The last few days I've looked at some 2014 George Springer Topps Update Rookies and all the different parrallels that we're produced. One such parallel that caught my eye was the "sparkle" variation. I've seen these with the added sp or ssp designation. Upon further inspection I only found two copies of Springer's "sparkle" variation for $299 and $599 respectively. I noticed that with other cards, most typically non rookie the "sparkle" cards can be found pretty cheap but with a rookie card like 2015 Fransisco Lindor with the added sparkle, the price is upwards of $1,000 for a graded copy.

Seeing those prices was pretty surprising for a card that I've heard very little about. What I'd like to know is what was the print run on these and whether are the valued in the hobby and do they have a place with a player such as Springer or Lindor's key rookie cards when colecting? Thanks in advance!

The second image is the regular base card with no sparkle on thumb.

Never saw these before. Looks like a Lindor sold this week for about $500.

That's a decent chunk of money. I found a copy of George's for a tenth of that. I'm hoping that George can keep crushing it with the Blue Jays and more people become aware of these as they truly seem quite rare and quite interesting.

They are rare, but they really only appeal to player super-collectors and master set collectors. So IMO the people that want them already have them. I don't see them becoming a hot item because they only were made one year (unlike Heritage gimmicks or action SPs).

Forget the "sparkle" name, this is the George Springer ET variant...

They did them in 2011 too, but they weren't all that tough.
