Hi all! New Member and relatively new vintage collector here!

Hey all! Im Seth. I'm 17 and a senior in high school who recently got into vintage. I have picked up a few things but I am especially looking to put together a nice Zack Wheat collection. Here are the 3 measly cards I have compared to some of the incredible collections I have seen around here already!

And if you have any Wheat or Brooklyn tobacco let me know!

TO ALL! - Thanks guys! I have been collecting since I was little- its just that I got into vintage now.

I have plenty of memorabilia and modern cards too! I am trying now to just focus on the memorabilia and vintage, along with prospect L.J. Hoes.

Welcome to the forum! Wheat's T205 is one of my favorite cards aesthetically and yours is great example of it. Who cares that the card graded a 1, the front is spectacular.

Hey Seth, Im an armpit collector as well. By the looks of things, you've made a good start. As you become more "advanced", don't forget your ghetto roots :) Steve F

I wish I would have started collecting pre-war/vintage at age 17. Oh, what could have been.

Welscome Seth, you are going to do very well

judging by your eye for image quality. A superb selection for color and registration. Good luck with your collecting

SethY 11-14-2009 05:57 PM

Thanks guys! Jason, what do you mean by registration? I really like the Wheat despite the back too Matt. The front is incredible in my opinion!

Welcome aboard!!

Hi Seth
Welcome aboard!! "Registration" refers to how clear the picture on the card is. best regards

leftygrove10 11-14-2009 06:16 PM

Welcome aboard, Seth... The registration of the card is a reference to the focus of the card. If all of the colors fall on the card properly, then the card will have good registration. If one or more colors are displaced from where they should be, the card will appear blurry and out of focus. Perhaps someone can show an example.

Hi Seth- welcome to the board. It's always good to start collecting when you are young. Stick with it!

Hi Seth

This is probably the best time to start collecting Pre-War cards due to the economy being slow which in turn reflects on card value.

I’m sure you won’t have any trouble finding cards; you’re in the right place.

Welcome to the forum!!!

Hi Seth, This would be an example of a card that is slightly off register... notice the magenta color (hairline) is not exactly where it should be.

But this is a very rare card, so.......... :)

i'm happy to see your passion in the right arena at such an early age!!!
i'm also happy to see the T206 interest.
As you tackle the Monster over the years,
remember: The Monster wants you to quit.
Don't listen to it.
