October Pickups
Posted By: Casey
I can't be the only one who has bought something this month! This one isn't much, but maybe we can get the thread rolling!

Posted By: Keith
Casey, What is that card that you just picked up? I have never seen one like it.

October Pickups
Posted By: Casey
I guess I should have clarified more, it is a postcard. Like others, I collect postcards because of the lack of pre 1930's cards available. Anyway, in my time collecting I had not seen this one before. It is kinda cool, and was cheap!

Posted By: John S
Really neat Casey. Is the back postmarked? Any generic team affiliation?

October Pickups
Posted By: Casey
The card is unused, so no postmark. It does have a couple of glue spots (unmentioned in the auction). As far as I team reference, nothing. Unless you want to count blue as a reference to Yale!

Anyway, it is a divided back from the "Anglo Pastelle Series". It is titled "Near the Line" Again, I don't think it is too special but it is new to me and my collection.

What is everyone else buying?

October Pickups
Posted By: Keith
Ok, even these are prewar and not cards, here are some of my October football pickups.

First is an 1891 Trinity Football CDV photo - I love the notation on back with a player giving the photo to his girlfriend.

Next, is an 1891 Harvard Springfield football game button. The button/pin is cloth covered and measures a little over an inch in diamter

October Pickups
Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
If anybody has more information on these I would appreciate it. Both postmarked 1951 from Dallas, Texas. The Rote has "Laughesd" logo on front while the Walker doesn't but has a "Laughead Studio, 6411 Hillcrest, Dallas" return address on back. Thought they were neat items. Both autographed as well.
-Rhett
