Tips for hanging a pennant?

I have a pretty cool looking pennant that I would love to hang on a wall. Do you guys have any advice on how to best hang the pennant?

It would be best to see the pennant in question. Assuming it's standard size, the best method is to use a protective plastic sleeve (easily found on ebay/Amazon). There are 2 varieties... rigid "toploader" style or soft/more flexible style.

Hang it with small nails running through the plastic (not the pennant itself). Of course ther are multiple (perhaps more attractive) framing options, if you want to invest the cash. Just depends on what you're willing to spend.

There have been pertinent threads on the Memorabilia side, which you can search. If you want additional advise, you should also consider posting over there.

Pennant Frame

There was a seller at the National in Baltimore last year and he had some really nice pennant frames. I think they were $30/ea. I bought one for the pennant I bought a couple tables over from him. I think he's a pennant dealer from Dallas, TX. The frame includes the proper hanging hardware on the back.

Have it professionally framed. I have a 1962 All Star pennant framed and it looks great.

Is there an easy way to clean a pennant? I have a 1963 Cardinals with the picture in it (like your Cowboys), but it has some small staining. Is there a good way to clean the spots?

I've asked that same question to a long-time pennant dealer and he told me it's best to leave it alone rather than risk further damage or bad results. The only safe thing to do with felt is you can iron creases out pretty easily.

I've done it many times to WHITE pennants.....just keep the bleach off the colored border and rinse well after the bleach has done its magic.

Rob:

How do you apply the bleach? Spray Bottle? Wash Cloth?

Also, do you dilute it, or use it full-strength?

Thanks :)
