1991 Donruss Super Diamond Kings

Is there any indication that the 1991 version of this send-away set is any scarcer than its predecessors?

I ask because when I was filling these in from 1985-1990, I could always easily find sealed complete sets on eBay and plenty of singles as well.

For the last month, there has been exactly one seller with these, and he has exactly three singles up for sale. He's only asking $1 so there's no premium pricing that you might expect for a rarer issue. Meanwhile, there are in excess of 100 lots for 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988 each up for sale. 1989 and 1990 show marked decreases, down to between 10 and 20 each.

Just wondering.

And IIRC if there was a 1992 set those are super tough.

Yes, 92 was the tough year. Prior years were plentiful.

Here's a great rundown of the Diamond Kings year-by-year. This article does not give any reason why the 1991 Super Diamond Kings would be less available than the others as they were still available via mail order.

It does state that the 1992 Supers were given away at a company function to employees and not released to collectors.

Thanks - now eBay has precisely 0 listings for 1991 Supers, but the 85-90 run is all over the place...weird if there is not a scarcity issue.

I am pretty sure I have a sealed set, as i have a partial set that i opened up and usually try to keep sets sealed if I only have 1. I am assuming I bought them on ebay, but it is possible I got one or more cheap at a local shop.

Are you looking for any particular 91 singles? I have 16, including the checklist, so I probably traded the others away or possible stuffed them into prize packages I used to make for giveaway.

I'm actually looking for the whole set, with the Stargell Puzzle.
