Hi There all:
Football lurker here with quite a bit of FB and was wondering if any of you have or collect 1950 Betsy Ross bread College of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) football Player of the week "cards" ?

If so would love to hear from you and thanks,

This old listing at Old Judge Auctions has seven listed.

My late uncle played there circa '53

Thanks Bob! I guess I don't have them all after all. Missing one it seems. The life of a collector, LOL.

Yup. It’s a road well traveled, especially by collectors of these little known sort of sets. Hope you can find that last one.

Thanks guys. Good to see that others out there like these "cards" as I do.
I have 5 and am missing Hardley (Hardy?) and Polenke judging from the Old Judge sale back in 2011. So 7 looks like a good number.

If anybody has these two available for sale or trade I sure would like to hear from you and thanks again,
Sealmark

Oh Oh guys there must be 10 as LeBaron is not listed here in Andy's confirmed list. I guess I started something here and glad I did Now I need 5 !

10 Makes sense since they likely played a ten game schedule in 1950.

A couple of those 22-year-olds could pass for 40.

I only have this one, which is not for sale. I had wanted it for years, before I finally acquired it a few months ago.

Hello Jeff:
Some time ago you said you had a complete set of 6. I replied that I had 5 and needed Hardy. Then Andypcl showed 9 meaning I needed 5. Now you have come up with 12. Where did you find this info and I wonder if this will ever be known as a complete set? Any additional pix ?

Well, I purchase a lot of these years ago that was sold as the complete set at 6 but that was clearly wrong. Based on the images shows above and the three I have that were not show in the 9 shown by Andypcl, we are at 12 known to exist. I'll try to dig up the images. Argpdt showed the Eddie LeBaron which is one of them. The other two are Don Hardey and Eddie Macon.

And all of these players played together in the 1949 season so there is a chance that this set was actually created in 1949. It would seem that if you were honoring the Player of the Week you would do that in the week(s) after the game they starred in.

So far I've only been able to track down one mention of a COP Player of the Week in the newspapers for 1949 but it aligns with what is on the card in terms of the game.

Also, COP only played 11 games during the season with two players chosen as player of the week for the San Jose game making 12 the likely total number in the set unless for another game multiple players were chosen.
