yuck....hopefully no one gets taken by not knowing it's fake.....

Is this an example where on a legitimate card the uniform should blend into the white border?

EvilKing00 09-29-2014 05:14 PM

Someone has a bid on it

Joem36 09-29-2014 05:15 PM

A real collector would not have the words "baseball card" on their label.

Well, when you sell on eBay, you have to list in a way that even the lowest denominator can find your listing. Mickey 'Mantel Mantle'

Just for kicks I messaged the seller and here is the reply:

Yes I've had this card forever. It's just never been sent to a grader. I don't have the time, money, or interest to get it graded that's why the price is so low compared to the $2000 graded ones. I also believed that if I sent it to get graded it wouldn't be high. I predict about a 6-7 on the grading due to the crease in the top left corner and also the splotchy parts on the back. Since I've had it it's been in this case so it is in fair shape just not mint as you can see in the picture!

A little overly optimistic on the grading as well.

Yeah, and I'm too busy to take 5 minutes to fill out a form and mail a card for only $2,000 value.

Why do the people who produce these fakes always do such an even job of rounding all the corners? I've never seen a real card with actual wear that resulted in perfectly, evenly rounded corners like that.

I have to assume his "6 or 7" is based on SGC's scale of 100.

3 bids now...and of course the seller does not offer returns.

I've taken playing cards out of a fresh pack that weren't as well rounded as those.

Doesn't matter. He has to take returns if the buyer figures out it's a fake.

Hey, I know I always prefer to leave $1500 or more on the table whenever possible. When you're rolling like me, making $10,000 a minute, that 5 minutes to fill out the form is just not good ROI.

The High Bidder has bid only on this single item in the past 30 days,
yet has 5 retractions in 6 months. Interesting stats.
