How to find pre 1910 game stats.

I have the opportunity to pick up some old(pre-1915) Giants tickets and as a Matty fan was curious about getting old game stats. Baseball-reference.com doesn't go back that far and I haven't been able to find much.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,
You can access the Omaha Bee's archive through the Library of Congress to look at box scores.
Here is a link:

Good luck!

The New York Times Archives are a great source of game reporting plus box scores. If you're specifically interested in games that Matty pitched you may also find useful Christy Mathewson: A Game-by-Game Profile of a Legendary Pitcher by Ronald Mayer. It does not provide box scores but does give a synopsis of each big league game he pitched. The book was published in 1993 but re-issued later by McFarland Publishing. I got my copy from Amazon.

David,

I picked up the e-book last night. Thank you so much! It's a great read!

Paul: I'm a dinosaur when it comes to e-books - I prefer my print on paper - but am glad you were able to secure a copy and that you're enjoying it. Very neat that you live near Factoryville. Following the 2012 National in Baltimore I booted up to Gettysburg to visit a collector buddy and then Lewisburg to pay my respects to Matty at the Bucknell cemetery. Would have liked to have carried on to Factoryville (and even to Shohola to visit Joe Wood's gravesite) but I had a flight to catch the next morning. Still on my bucket list.

I prefer paper too. I'll be getting a copy but couldn't wait. I've been to Lewisburg on several occasions. Neat town. I love that '14 CJ!! If you ever want to part with it....;)
