Walker Bueler who however you spell it

Will win Cy Young or come in 2nd (if judges think he doesnt have enough wins).

I got this from someone in the future who witnesses most of the 2019 season..this person just missed 30 or so games ..so doesnt know the win total... or how people will vote ..........

If he does win, wouldn't it be great if Ben Stein announced it?

There is an "H" in there. Buehler. I'm hoping he has a great year and especially a great career as I am hoping this card goes through the stratosphere like Trout's RC. :D

Wasnt in the Cy Young conversation yet, heck even last week was not even a sure thing for the all star game..

Guys like Paddack and L. Castillo etc were far ahead in the Cy Young conversation..

but when you get information from someone in the future...you cant beat that....

Another gem from Walker Buehler last night. He is being compared with some elite pitchers now, deservedly so.

I bought a 2018 Topps Chrome box when they came out chasing an Ohtani rookie auto. Ended up with a redemption card for a guy named Buehler. Probably won out in the end.

Nice card. I also own one but it's not autographed, unfortunately.

I don't see pitchers taking off much in the modern card market. Maybe there are examples. I think it's the Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson model that has the most juice. Some raker with flair. Did some research for a nice DeGrom rookie and was surprised how dead his market is in rookie cards Guy has won two Cy Youngs and his cards are awfully weak.

I tend to believe that somewhat as well, Steve.
I see modern in all sports costing more than some well established, HOF's, and I honestly have trouble wrapping my head around it at times.

I dabble a bit in modern away from my 52 Topps cards and hockey cards, but for the most part, I mainly try to stick with vintage of players who already have a reputation/HOF career.

I know there are exceptions like Trout, etc, that haven't made the HOF yet, but those are few and far between, imo.

Of course, with manufactured scarcity, 1 of 1's , etc, some of those cards might be different if the player does eventually make it to the HOF, but I try not to play that game if I can help it.
Part of the big reason why I purchased my Walker Buehler cards is because he has the same name as my son. It's not a popular name so I just thought my son would think that is pretty cool, but then again, maybe not?

Depends on the player and the hype they bring. Daisuke cards were sky high in the moment. I remember when the Lincecum card was huge too.

If Bob Feller were a modern pitcher I think his auto rookies would be more expensive than his entire player run. Same with Nolan Ryan. Imagine a 2020 rookie auto of a 19 year old who struck out 300 guys in the minors (which Ryan did in 1966)?

You mean you guys dont want to spend 25k on a Jason Dominguez refractor card. Party poopers.
Craziness.
