cannon 9000 scanner question

I recently got this scanner - it seems to have a mind of its own when I put multiple items on the glass - When I want to scan six cards together - it breaks them into individual scans (and does a poor job clearly showing borders and corners. When I want individual scans of multiple items - it scans them as 1!

Is there a setting option I am missing somewhere?

I don't get it either, Howard - unless Canon has come up with a technology that allows the scanner to read your mind. I would think that you must be somehow switching a setting in each case in order to get the different results. Are you sure you're not using different settings in the photo editing software after placing the items in the scanner?

My xerox 4700 does similar stuff, so I made a "frame" of white that is bigger than a sheet of cards and scan using that, then I get one scan (which I need to edit the frame out of, of course)

download MP Navigator. It allows you to manipulate multiple scan areas simultaneously

Thank you
