We haven't had one of these threads in a long time.

Our dog Bubba just looks too cute napping on my wifes legs. The Senegal parrot is Mikey.

Last Friday was 7 years since we adopted Bubba. I have had Mikey for 27 years.:)

My daughter-in-law-to-be manages some pet resorts and folks seem to think they are good places to dump unwanted pups and kittens. So here we are...

This is Luna. She’s a miniature schnauzer. She’s 6.5 years old. She used to be a jumper and we thought that was cute and all but abt 4 years later she went down, she stopped using her back legs as a result of IVDD. So we had the surgery to get her back to walking again and she went down again within 3 months. The surgeon was optimistic that if he could perform the surgery this time he would give us like a 2-3% chance of it ever happening again. We couldn’t give up on Luna with those odds. We are close to the 2 year mark from her second surgery and she’s like brand new. She’ll never be where she was before the problems. Luna is living life to the fullest. She’s able to walk around on her own and do her business. We still protect her from trying to not let her get too hyper, jump, or use steps. She obeys the rules. She’s our baby girl.

Doug -

I think you should stick to photography.

Here's a couple of photos of Felix the Cat.

The one on the left was taken on the day I got him from the animal shelter in July (at 5 months old). The one on the right was taken a couple of weeks ago (at 7 months old). He likes to use the storage compartment in my 79 year-old mother's walker as a hammock. But, the problem is that he's starting to outgrow it! LOL.

Meet Albus our Boston Terrier

We moved in to a new home a little over 2 years ago and my kids badly wanted a dog. My wife wanted a frenchy, and I wanted a bully. We met in the middle with this guy. I sold off some of my cobb collection to get him and I would do it again.

He's adorable. My childhood dog was a Boston Terrier.

Here is my pup Karla. She is protective, loving and oh so very smart. Her dedication to squirrel chasing (on command) is amazing, and she can leap and layout for a hot grounder just like Brooks Robinson. Best acquisition I've ever made

I lost my Redbone hound last year. I had not expected another dog to come into our life quite yet, but am happy one has.

Gracie came to live with us a couple of months ago. While she was well fed and such, she had spent most of he last five years in a crate because of her owner's work schedule. Her former owner took another job which would require her to be away even more so the trainer who had worked with our Redbone asked us if we would be interested.

Gracie spends her days with me. We walk 5 miles every morning. She usually sits on the back porch or office with me while I do my consulting practice. She has her run of our half-acre backyard where she terrorizes squirrels. She goes with me wherever I go, my obsessive girlfriend. Having given up on the idea that I would ever have an obsessive girlfriend, it's been great. She is incredibly loving and has become a part of the family. She will never see another crate.

Would the drawing look any better if I told you that Hank (the dog) drew it himself?

Great pets everyone!

Here is another one of my birds. Kiki is a orange winged amazon. I got her from a former employee 21 years ago. He got the bird in 1980 or 81 and was told it was a old wild caught bird then. He turned into a meth head and was going to prison so I got her. Unfortunately he had neglected her horribly and only fed her black sunflower seeds for years before I got her. She looked horrible and smelled worse.

She is a riot. She has perfect timing at laughing at stuff my wife says. Even better the laugh is exactly like my wifes. She knows many words and phrases. The only bad part is she does a very loud copy of a 80s electronic toy gun. Luckily after several years she no longer swears like a sailor.
