Nolan Ryan Mets Photo/Postcard id help needed

I consider myself decent at Identifying Legitimacy and date of photos. However this one of Nolan really has me stumped. I can’t tell if it’s a modern piece or a legitimate period issue (fan made or issued).

A few pros on Legitimacy:
Proper Stock, Badly Cut, Legitimate wear, Cannot find the original pose, Name is written on the back.

Cons on Legitimacy:
Image quality is not amazing, Cannot find anything like it.

Your input is appreciated!

Looks to me like that is a second-generation image. My guess is that it was made to cash in on his popularity.

The name on the back looks like what you would find on a typical George Brace postcard, but the quality of his images are usually much better than your Ryan postcard. Paper looks like what Brace used.

Hope this helps a little.

Absolutely agreed. I’m not usually one to reach for what I think is right, but I just can’t come to the conclusion of 100% cash grab fake.

Hi Lucas,
I just now saw your PM. Sorry about the delayed response as I have been on vacation.
The image is one that I have not seen before, but it likely originates from 1966 or 1968.
The poor quality of the image leads me to believe that it was produced much later and obviously not from an original negative.

I hope this helps!

Interesting. Pic was clearly snapped at Wrigley Field.

Thanks for the Input Scott, I agree no way it's an original. However I could definitely see it as a premium or Postcard style giveaway item.

Absolutely, A great backdrop.

George Brace typically took photos at Wrigley.
He is likely the photographer, because I have seen shots similar to this look pose other pitching photos that he took at Wrigley.
My only caveat is that Brace's RPPC's had different backs and the clarity of the photo images were always very clear...

Couldn't agree more to your synopsis. I do think it's crazy if brace took this photo how has there never been any other examples found?

A strange case indeed.
