Show Me Some Jackie Robinson Stuff
With all the debates over his RC, time for a thread for all things JR. Try to post one item a day only so we can keep this going round-robin-style for a while. I will open with this card:
https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...0publicity.jpg Small premium issued to members of the All-American Sports Club around 1955. Others in the set I am aware of include Duke Snider (labeled "Don Newcomb" for some reason) and Rocky Marciano https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...0publicity.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...0publicity.jpg |

Don't really have any "stuff", but I have a few cards. Hope that's okay. Here's one.

My Jackie, that I regrettably never got graded years ago.
I know grading is subjective but does anyone think my card would get a 3 or higher? There are no creases for sure and no wrinkles that I can see anywhere? |
Geez, Troy, I bet you could trade that for a condo in Maui. Wowsers.
|
Probably the highest grade '50s big card I have.
One of a handful that I've still never sent in. Would hope for a PSA 7 on a good day. In today's world, maybe a 3  https://i.imgur.com/egQIIMN.jpg |

Haven't seen this one yet.
Also, love the '52 Berk Ross, and it'd be a dream to add one someday. |

Love this ‘55 Topps Jackie that I was fortunate enough to pick up from a fellow Net54 member...

Took a shot at this signed Jackie 15 years ago from a local seller in the Toronto area. I had it graded and it came back a 9 from PSA!

Here's my 1947 Jackie Robinson Pinback with original Ribbons & Charms. I understand this is a tough pin to find, got lucky and found it on ebay some years ago. Here's the description I put together for this pin:
"Recognized as one of the two toughest Robinson pinbacks to locate, this example features Jackie in his Kansas City Monarchs Uniform from 1945. The Monarchs logo was removed from the photo and the team name "Dodgers" was later added to the pin. This pin is not only from Jackie's rookie year, it pre-dates his pins wearing a Dodger uniform." |
1952 Jackie
I think you would be in the 3+ -- 4 range on this. Beautiful!

Jackie`s 1`st day In Camp
We probably should have started this thread a while ago, got to be a lot of great items out there. Not the greatest photo but one from Jackie`s 1`st day of Montreal`s camp. Looking to add a Robinson card to my collection but I`d better pull the trigger pretty soon !

I got this Type 1 of the '53 Dodgers players who were hitting .300+ years ago. So glad I didn't sell/trade it along the way. The quality is outstanding, just crystal clear. By far, my favorite photo I own.

Don't have any cards, but I've always loved the TIME magazine (full issue framed) cover. The only other Jackie item in my collection is this c.1950s player model/endorsed bat.

Jonathan, that looks like a museum display. Simple and beautiful.

Beautiful stuff, guys, keep it going!
Here's one I'd been looking to add for years. I found it Tuesday at the National in 2019: https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...binson%201.jpghttps://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...binson%202.jpg it is a early mail-in form for a flip book. The flip books are around, these cards are not. https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...binson%201.JPG The flip book |
