Help IDing this Di Maggio piece

Hey Gang:

Can anyone help with info on this Joe D. piece?

I haven't seen this DiMaggio item before, but when searching online for the "Yankee Clipper" nickname, it appears it was first used in 1939. "Joltin Joe" was something that came to being during his 1941 batting streak season, so even if this piece is a later creation, at least the makers wisely used the "Printed 1940" stamp on back to fit when the Yankee Clipper was the nickname in use before the introduction of the Joltin Joe moniker.

The reverse looks like the font and structure of the old Who’s Who entries. Maybe a cut page or printer’s proof from the 1941 edition?

Card includes 1940 stats

World series ended October 8th. If legit, would have to have been "printed" between Oct 8 and Dec 31 after baseball season ended.

Related to above the "Printed in 1940" makes me skeptical. That said, I have not seen it before and aside from skepticism can't add anything definitive to the conversation.

Looks off to me in terms of authentic period. I too am skeptical about the 1940 print date on the back.

Is there paper loss on the back--bottom? Strange that the card lists all regular season and World Series stats pretty completely through 1940, but includes all-star game info only for1936 and 1937--with no totals. Joe D played in the 1938-1940 AS games too.

Possibly a minor point, but is it possible that the "PRINTED 1940" was added later? Stamped on or something? It doesn't match the other text, as an ordinary copyright date would/should, I imagine.

Joe D @ Spring Training (1941). Different photo, but lots of similarities...
