Asking for help on the PSA set 1950 Svart-Vita OS Sportserien

I recently purchased 3 sealed packs and in one of them found a pristine mint Ingemar Johansson.

I know he was born in 1932 so this card could be of him at age 18.However he didn't begin his career until after his failed 1952 Olympics.

Since these cards are i believe of Olympians how can the date be correct?

It wouldn't be the first time or last that PSA has erred on the date of the issue.

I'm welcoming comments from anyone who is familiar with this multi sport set dedicated it seems to a specific Olympics.

Rafer Johnson another card in the set didn't become famous until his Silver in the 1956 Olympics..Attachment 455489

If PSA dated them as such it is yet another bit of PSA stupidity. The cards are a 1960 issue. OS 90 is a 'tale of the tape' Floyd Patterson that lists his age as 25. He was born in 1935.

There is a 1951-52 Johansson card. That's his earliest as far as I can tell.

You are correct

Did some further digging with some Swedish contacts and i was told that cards 1-100 are dated 1960.As for higher numbers i didn't get any details.

It's frustrating when i tried to get Film Star cards graded years ago i needed to submit dna samples and a PHD dissertation to verify the dates.

But so often i see sheer laziness on their part where they date something wrong that could have been checked in seconds...yet they continue to date this set as 1950..

If they changed the set year, they'd have to pay for everyone who had one to ship it back and get it relabeled since that's their policy with "mechanical errors." So they may know it is wrong, but it's cheaper to leave it wrong than to fix it.
Their new part-owner is on Blowout (and here?), so if you want to go straight to the top, send him a message.
