Is there a checklist someone can post here? I just bought a 1965 but is isn't numbered 1-65. Are there more than one variation? Any help appreciated. TIA

Is this the right set?

Gene Stephens isn't listed in that link.

Ah, sorry…that was the “ 2014 Real One Autograph” but I didn’t even check to see if he was listed. Looking by his name on TCDB I’m not seeing it listed! Sorry!

Maybe this card never got packed that year and was backdoored from Topps after he finally sent them back. Since the cards don't go in number order, there wasn't a gap that people realized it was missing.

I sent Topps an email but don't expect a response....was hoping someone knows what it is. There are other examples from other players on ebay currently. Same setup with no hand numbering.

Possible that players returned cards too late to be in packs or signed incorrectly (no numbering). Topps might have used them to fulfill late redemptions or, as noted above, been back-doored out and into the marketplace.

On the back of the 2014 cards it says that the signatures are witnessed by a Topps representative. How do they define representative?

Point being, if witnessed by a "representative" wouldn't that same person have taken the cards after signing?

Seems more likely there is a missing checklist.... I don't get lucky enough to find real oddities.... LOL!

They could watch him through a webcam to make sure he signs the cards. Doesn't have to be there in person, I guess. Although I believe some card shop owners on Blowout have said they have been witnesses for card signings previously.

Card is now in hand. Still haven't found a checklist showing it's exsistance. Topps was no help, in fact quite rude.

Are Heritage cards slightly thicker than vintage cards? A 65' card is definitely a different feel side by side.

Best guess is that he was to be included in the 2014 set but he never returned or it arrived to him too late. Maybe he sent that out to someone on a TTM autograph request. I've never seen that card on any checklist or ever pop up. Topps is useless for information on past Heritage sets. Great find.
