Is there another definition for the other players on a HoF'ers multi-player rookie card who don't stick around? For someone like Jeff Schneider and Bob Bonner, who were on Cal Ripken Jr.'s 1982 Topps rookie card but were shortly out of baseball.

Who's the best non HOFer to appear on a HOFer's RC? Off the top of my head I would say Koosman?

Cecil Cooper was also very good, but yeah, Koosman was better.

The answer would have been Alan Trammell until a few years ago.

181. Yukstaposition (Also Ron Tompgrins, Jerry Amuseman, Bill Dene-Hee-Hee, Al Weiscrack or Ron Slay)
How some people try to get laughs by referring to the Johnny Bench, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Pete Rose, or Mike Schmidt rookie cards by using one-of-the-other-players-pictured’s names instead.

229. Scrubbish
Rookie cards of players that never made it big appearing in the same set with the same layout as other valuable, much sought after rookie cards.

Guilty as charged. It took me a while to get Hank Allen’s rookie card. Some danged punk jacked the price of that card way up (Carew). I did get a nice one eventually, the Allen side is great that punk has a crease in him. :D :cool:

Ken McMullen's rookie card (1963 Topps #537) is outrageously expensive, and it doesn't even have a Hall of Famer on it!:D

Some RC trivia.

Steve Carlton -- only postwar HOF player with no second year card, I think.

Tony Larussa and Lou Piniella -- multiyear gap between rookie and second year cards.

Bobby Cox -- RC as a player is his ONLY player card (other than earlier Venezuelan).

Phil Neikro has two rookie cards in consecutive years.

Probably several examples of this but Eckersley is on a leaders card same year as his base RC. Though I guess that raises the issue of is his 1975 SSPC really his RC.

More trivia

Wally Wolf was on a rookie card 7 years apart, 1963 and 1970.

I mentioned before maybe but Gaylord Perry is the only one I know of who went from his own RC to a shared card the next year.
