Pre-70 raw card lot prices on eBay

In getting ready for Chantilly tomorrow, I did a little research on eBay on what raw card lots of commons went for on eBay so I could have a comparison at the show. I would much rather buy in person, but am just back into the hobby so didn't want to get gouged.

In case this helps anyone else. All Topps. These are for mostly G/VG cards from what I saw, so lower grade would be less and higher grade more

1953 = $2-3/card
1954-1955 = $1-2/card
1956 = $1-1.50/card
1957 = $0.75-1.25/card
1958-1960, 1963 = $0.50-.75/card
1961-1962, 1964-1967 = $0.25-.50/card
1968 = $0.20-.40/card
69 = $0.20-.30/card

Would love to have any feedback or price trends you may have seen or recent purchase experiences!?

You would be very hard pressed to find those prices at a show. If you're buying single cards you should expect a 50-100% mark up on wholesale lot per card prices.

That's what I wanted to know. I figured it would be higher, but yikes, that's a heck of a difference. But would rather know that before going in than being surprised when I get there.

Prices

I think these prices need some adjustments for higher number

For example:
1953 = $2-3/card (okay for low numbers; but higher numbers seem like at least $6-8ish to me)
1954-1955 = $1-2/card (55 highs i expect at least 43-4 a card)
1961-1962, 1964-1967 = $0.25-.50/card (61, 66 and 67 high numbers can be quite pricey depending on the card)

Cheers,
Patrick

I'm going to a different show in a couple weeks and this got me wondering about 1952 Bowman commons. What would anyone think I might be looking at per card in the same G- VG range? I was thinking about picking up a few to fill in some holes in my set but it's not my top priority at the moment. As a comparison I try to pay between 1 to 3 dollars per card with an obvious overall average of $2. How much more could I expect at a show?
Sorry to hijack the thread but I am really debating what to look at to add to my collection on my budget. I haven't been to an actual show in a decade.

Good call Patrick...I should have said. I would say 90% of what I looked at were all low cards, there were a smattering where people had high numbers in the years you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

And in regards to 52 high numbers, I found a good smattering of everything from low up to 250...250 to 310 were probably a little higher for commons...anything over 311...$ in the bank!

Hijak away;-) I am focusing on Topps currently but would love to hear if it is the same thing for 50's Bowman that was mentioned...that it's going to be more in person at the shows.

What show are you going to in a few weeks?

One in Raliegh NC. I have a good friend who lives there that goes to it every year and invited me up. In fact we met on this site a few years ago and struck up a great friendship (hi Chris). It's a good opportunity to get a weekend away and get to know Chris and his family better plus going to a show with a friend always makes it better.
Can't wait for the show but am really conflicted about what my top goals are. I made a list of my top 25 cards to get are, then priced and ranked them. They range from .50 cents to over $200. That's not including set fillers like the 52 Bowman. But like my beautiful wife has always told me "These cards have been around for decades. It's ok to take decades to obtain the ones you really want. All part of the journey." She's right (shocker), so more than anything I'm looking for a good time with a great friend and make some memories over checking off cards on a list.
