American Airlines Ceramic Mugs
3 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know anything about these mugs? When they were issued and how many different. Also, how were they made available? I know of three and thought there might be a fourth player. Robinson, Mays and Aaron are the ones I have pics of. Obviously with the dates 70-71, maybe issued over a couple years?

I can’t help with info, Clint, but I want a Mays! I may have to add yet another ebay search.

Yeah Rob you need a Mays. I think they make great displays.
|
Those are crazy cool!
|
Seen them sell before for around $100 apiece for the Aaron and Mays.
My guess is they were used for first class passengers and they are definitely super rare. |
I think so too Hank. I’ve got the Robinson and just added the Mays.
Stan you may be right on having them in first class. I agree they are pretty darn difficult to find. |
Wow, those are great
|
Those are friggin sweet!
|
Thanks guys, like Stan said around a $100 or so if your patient so not that bad.

My dad worked for American Airlines, and he brought home one of the Aaron mugs in the 1971-72 timeframe. He gave it to me, and I ended up getting it signed by Hank Aaron at a card show in Anaheim, CA in either 1982 or 1983. I still have it.

Thanks Steve for the info. Post a pic if you get the chance.

Thanks for posting this Clint. I have two of the Mays mugs, one of them with a small chip. I never had any idea there were other players!
