Babe Ruth Type 1 Photos REDUCED

Lately, I've been thinking about sending these photos to auction. Wanted to offer them here first in case anyone is interested. I've never really sold much before, and what I have sold I've sent off to auction houses or consignment. So please bear with me.

1. 1922 Pacific & Atlantic photo of Ruth at Game 2 of the 1922 World Series, meeting Lord and Lady Mountbatten. Some condition issues which can be seen clearly in the photos. For whatever reason, I don't come across 1922 WS photos of Ruth very often. 6.5x8.5". SOLD

2. 1927 Underwood & Underwood photo of Ruth (with Huggins and other Yankees) after beating the Athletics to win the 1927 AL pennant. Approx 7x9.5". SOLD

3. 1938 Ruth portrait as Brooklyn Dodgers coach. An obvious editorial photo with various editorial markings. Some people like editorial work on the photo, some don't (I fall in the former camp). Anyway, the editorial marks should be obvious in the pictures. A really intimate photo of Ruth during his brief time with Brooklyn. Approx 6x7". SOLD

4. 1927 Dewell photo of Ruth and Gehrig on barnstorming tour. Beautiful photo in excellent shape. To be honest, this was the toughest of the photos to price. A 1927-28 Ruth barnstorming photo I like much less (further away from Ruth, without Gehrig, and in lesser condition) sold at Heritage in May for $3700+. Just under 8x10". $3000 $2700

All four of these photos were recently authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (in the larger, approx 10x13" slabs).

Prices are for PayPal FF and include ground shipping. Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

I've received a few offers and appreciate them. Barnstorming and 1927 Yankees photos are highly collectible so I don't have much room on those prices (well, the 27 Yankees sold already anyway). But I'll reduce the prices on the other two photos in case they appeal to any Ruth collectors.

1922 Ruth WS SOLD

1938 Ruth Dodgers SOLD

Thanks!

Thanks, Jeff. I've really enjoyed putting my photo collection together. Now I'm focusing on a few specialty areas so am gradually selling some stuff outside of those niches to fund new purchases.

Okay, three sold and one left (the Ruth and Gehrig barnstorming photo).

It happens to be my favorite of the lot. So I'm not sure if the universe is telling me to keep it or if I just priced it higher because I like it. I could take $2700 for it, but that's probably my bottom line.

Thanks for looking!
