T206 facial recognition

I've posted before on T206 players being misidentified, Lucky Wright is actually a picture of Eugene Wright and Art Kruger actually uses a picture of Otto Krueger so I figured I'd try a third one I saw while writing today. Bill Clymer was a manager at Columbus in 1909 but judging by the picture of him, the player on the card looks a lot more like Otis Clymer, who actually played in the majors in from 1905 until early 1909 and would seem like a more suitable subject than Bill who had a very brief major league career in 1891. Here are pictures of the two players and the card. First Bill, then the t206 which is supposed to picture him, then Otis Clymer. The Columbus jerseys and hats did not have emblems back then so that was all put on afterwards, they had blank white jerseys according to 1906-07 team photos I just saw

Here is a pic I found on the web of Bill Clymer circa 1914?. He certainly has some unique facial characteristics.

Here is a newspaper picture of Otis Clymer from 1909. Otis had a colorful career and certainly appears in the literature of that era. It might just be him on the T206 card............I think you nailed it!

Dear "Big Brother Online Checklist in the "Cloud" dude or dudette moderator,"

Please immediately update all your virtual online checklists. This is not Bill in the picture, it's Otis (with one "T" and much more pleasing on the eye then Bill). Thank you!

If I could possibly speak for all of us here at Net54 hobby central:.....................sorry about the omission Otis, oh, and I'm also sorry to hear about the car accident.

Lovely Day...

Otis Clymer

Good grief, how many times can you mis-identify the guy. (<-- rhetorical)

Note: Otis Clymer hit for the cycle in 1908, ... AND there is (of course) the Cycle-back T206 card. (How perfect a combination is that?)

I find it interesting when someone responds to a many years old thread. Inevitably members read it like it started yesterday. (me included sometimes)

On the subject of Iggy's picture above, when I first saw it, it reminded me of this card...
