Isn't this section of the board for discussing cards and not trying to buy them :p

But if you have to ask who a grading company is I would stay away. Especially on a card that is known to have so many fakes out there that PSA won't even grade the real ones. If that's the same one, I'm not too familiar with star cards.

They(star cards)are very easy to tell if fake or not.

SSA I would never buy...
Buy Beckett graded cards and you should be ok.:)

Actually no, there are lots of buy and sell postings here, just look at the front page of this subforum. I am well aware of the Star controversy, the reason for my question was that I knew Steve Taft, an expert on Star basketball, had graded some cards a while back for a nonmainstream company and I wasn't sure if it was SSA. Apparently not.

Thanks, Ben. I knew Steve Taft had graded some Star cards for a nonmainstream company but I guess it wasn't SSA. Have not found this card yet in a relatively high grade (that is, 8). A few nice raw ones but I don't have the confidence to go into that minefield.
