81 fleer question

I'm working on some new 81 fleer and trying to put a bit more order into some oddness I kept over the years. Early vs later print runs with different shades of yellow.

Does anyone remember what variations were corrected when? I know the Nettles was fixed pretty early, and the fingers were late, and I think the bulk of them were fixed as a group. But everything else I just don't remember.

Steve---I think I have all the catalog listed variations but have no idea of the order or timing.

The PSA master set lists 34 additional cards. Can not remember how many the SCD Catalog listed when they were still doing post 80, but that was my checklist

Off the top of my head, the Nettles was first. I think I may have pulled one. Here is a list, someone entered the printing of what print run the errors could be found. However none come close to the 1982 Littlefield reverse negative in terms of rarity.

The '81 Fleer really is a decent looking card. Fun project!

I think you are correct. The Nettles was an early error that was quickly corrected. A friend and I bought and split a case of fleer wax pack boxes with errors in 1981. We got a lot of error cards, but no Nettles. His card only showed up corrected in the boxes we received.

That's all a good start.

Trading card database breaks it down into three (Four? I forget already) print runs. I'm pretty sure the 1st is two separate, and there may be divisions in the others.

I'm also pretty sure I can tell most of them apart. I sort of had it figured when I was collecting them when they were new. And the details on the variations should make it easier.
