Rank your favorite 80s players to collect

Who doesn’t like a good ranking? There is no wrong answer here, it is solely your own personal collecting desire regardless of reason. Personally, my desire has changed over the years, mostly because of card design and image selection and some of it is because the legacy of certain players seem to stand the test of time more than others. Here is where my top 5 stands today, it will be cool to look back at this in 10 years and see if it changes again. Going to do do this with 70s and 90s as well.

1. Rickey Henderson
2. Bo Jackson
3. Barry Bonds
4. Tony Gwynn
5. Cal Ripken

I once made Quisenberry laugh while he was on the mound in a game in Minnesota. It was the summer of 1985, the Twins were down by a few runs, there was a pretty sparse and very quiet "crowd", so I yelled, at the top of my lungs, pausing briefly between words to inhale: YOU...THROW...FUNNY!

Quiz put his glove in front of his face, clearly laughing, took a step back off the mound, composed himself, then returned to the mound to finish beating the Twins.

I wish I could remember the date and get the radio broadcast of that game because I am certain everyone in the park, plus the radio listening audience, heard me.

Hey Phil. I'm a little late to this game but I collect Eric Davis. He's my favorite from the late 80's. Nice to see someone else mention him as a great.

After Eric I would say Mattingly, Barry Bonds, Strawberry and Gooden.
