What's with the shortage of toploaders
OK, I get I.... When COVID-19 first hit, chinese factories shut down and the global inventory of toploaders was quickly exhausted by a booming card industry.
But a year on...factories are up and running. Why are there still shortages? Is demand really that high that they can't manufacture enough little pieces of plastic? |
The number of flights is also way down, and most carry a bit of freight as well as passengers.
I think it will be a long time before the supply chain gets back to where it was. I'd say we should push for local production, but at least in the US, the equipment isn't there, even if you could find people to do the work cheaply enough. |
