1997 pinnacle totally certified 141 Derek Jeter Platinum Gold 10/30

Ok, I have been a Brett collector for many years but have alot of other cards, case in point many Jeter rookies. Have graded some and not others. Anyway was going through a box of cards, all in toploaders and stored and realized I had the above described card. I sent it in to PSA and just received the grade
"evidence of trimming" WELLL, just who would have done that, I've owned it from the time it came out of the box.

Surprised there has been zero response. That card is a monster, graded or ungraded. If you want to sell it, Small Traditions focuses on Jeter, while the guys at Blowout would make offers.

When I found it I realized that and immediately sent it in. I am getting really tired of PSA. I called them and raised hell. There is no way this card coulld be trimmed unless they did it and that's what I told them. They are supposed to be checking in to it and getting back with me. But I will tell you two times I have sent in really rare cards to be graded only to have them "lost" in their system for months. After I got everybody involved from the postal inspection service to whoever they have "shown up". Won't go into the grades.

swarmee 06-04-2019 06:21 PM

Just ask for it back, now.

If it was just recently looked at/graded I would assume, due to the scandal, that PSA isn't taking any chances?

It was either this forum or Blowout where someone mentioned a very similar story about their card(s) also coming back as trimmed.

When I called PSA I asked the girl to get back to me the next day which
didn't happen I finally called back this afternoon and was told my card
is in the vault because the head person and head grader are at a card
show so they can not do my "courtesy regrading" until they get back so
that will be probably the middle of next week. I seem to attract this stuff at PSA.

Trimmed card

Well here I sit, of course we are all so tired from our Long Beach show we
couldn't possibly take a look at my "trimmed card" that is in the "vault"
I tell you its about time to write the chairman of the board of collectorss
universe.

I guess some of the cards in this particular set are just smaller, not trimmed

PSA wouldn't know the difference between a trimmed card and a factory variation in tolerances if it bit them in the ass. Useless, but necessary for resale.

Peter_Spaeth 06-22-2019 01:36 PM

You'd be better off submitting 48 Leafs with 20 percent of the border missing.

You got that right, will hold on to it, bust it out one of these days and resubmit.

I couldn't believe the explanation

Here it is

chalupacollects 06-25-2019 08:01 AM

What does it measure?

It appears to me that the length is correct and the width is alittle off.
(done with my handy dandy tape measure)

I guess I never thought about measuring it since it has been with me
since it came out of the pack and I assumed each issue is judged on
its on merits as to length and width.

swarmee 06-26-2019 07:25 AM

That presupposes PSA knows the exact measurement every set should have. They don't. If it's a standard sized modern card, it should be 2.5"x3.5" no matter if the producer made them wrong.
