New Member from Canada

Hello everyone,

New member here from Ontario, Canada and also pretty new too vintage. I got back into cards in 2011/12 after a 20 year absence, first buying a few boxes of A&G and then moving heavily into chrome prospects. I'm still enjoying prospecting but recently re-watched Ken Burns baseball and got the itch to buy some vintage. I've been reading up on here and other places online for a few months but still have a lot to learn. I will probably be focusing on pre-war HOFs but we'll see where my research takes me.

Regards,
Jeff

Welcome Jeff.... You mentioned a Ken Burns film you watched, here (shown before) is a circa late 1860s cdv used to make a stereoview pictured in one of his books. Hope you enjoy the forum...

Welcome aboard, Jeff. Your path sounds strangely familiar to mine. I collected as a child, stopped when I was about 20, picked the hobby up again when I was 39, jumping heavily into prospecting, and buying a lot of Bowman Chrome prospect autos. I just got burned out. The prices got a little out of control. I've always loved and have long studied the history of baseball, so transitioning to pre-war and vintage cards seemed like a natural fit. And it's been so much fun. I'll still buy some modern, but the days of my trying to get a Chrome prospect auto for all the members of the top 100 prospect lists put out by MLB.com and Baseball America are behind me.

You should have a lot of fun here. Lots of new things for you to look at, and think about collecting. :D

If you ever have questions, I'm happy to help. Feel free to pm me if you like. Good luck!

Bill

Welcome! I am new here too and I am having lots of fun learning about vintage. I also came from modern and the blowoutcards forum but I enjoy this more.
