Len Koeneke Bat

I’m looking for a Len Koeneke gamer. If anyone has one, or had a lead on one please let me know! I’ll pay a finders fee of $100.

Good luck finding a bat, I'd love to see it if you locate one. I had a chance to buy a Koenecke store-model glove many years ago but passed it up, and I'm sorry I did. At the time I thought since it's a store glove, there had to be more out there - boy, was I wrong. Never saw one again. It later dawned on me that not too many people would have held on to a glove endorsed by a guy who was beat to death with a fire extinguisher in an airplane.

Len's story always fascinated me, and it's one of the more popular stories/illustrations I have done over the years. Every couple of years I get asked to write the outline or treatment for a screenplay to shop around for a movie on his life/death. Nothing ever comes of it, but it's good to know that Hollywood is still interested in making baseball movies.

HERE'S a link to my story of Len Koenecke for anyone who is unfamiliar with him.

Gary, that was such a great read. Your writing is excellent and engaging. And when I saw your art style, I thought "Wait a minute, I know this guy..." Then I looked on your site and realized my wife got me Outsider Baseball for Christmas last year. I've only just delved into it, but can't wait to finally have some time to settle in to these stories.

Thanks for the compliment on my story. I was going to put that one in my book, but he got cut at the last minute. I hope you enjoy the book, I really put my heart and soul into that thing. If you are interested, the Milwaukee SABR chapter featured my book in their book club this month, and I was invited to participate in their discussion. It was a lot of fun talking baseball history and getting to "meet" some people I only knew from the internet. The video of the book club is HERE

Not to derail this thread on the search for a bat, but I just ordered Gary's book. :D
