WTB Rare Jim Thorpe Original Type 1 Photo

I'm always on the hunt for rarer memorabilia of this Oklahoma Legend.

I've put together a nice collection of rare Original Type 1 Thorpe photos from a VERY specific photo shoot in Inglewood, CA, and one is missing from the list (managed to catalogue quite a list to track down).

If anyone has any information or has a copy to sell of the below photo, please let me know.

Or if you are looking to move your Jim Thorpe Memorabilia, send me pics/prices, thank you!

Thank you!

Here is my current display of two of the photos: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/192024735@N03/50911194803/in/album-72157718160924068/" title="20210204_102958"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50911194803_fa19c84ff0_k.jpg" width="2048" height="1343" alt="20210204_102958"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Bump after four years....my search continues for the above photo as well as a original Carlisle Indians Jersey (any size). I now own the entire Original Type 1 series minus this one photo, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

What original type 1 series are you referring to?

Great question!

In 1931 , Jim Thorpe hosted a training event at his home in Inglewood, CA where he utilized his sons (Phil age 4, and Billy age 3) in a promo of educational football photos titled "History of the Game".

He shot a series of 4 photos with his sons, and then several other photo shoots without his kids.

I've been trying to track down the 4 KNOWN photos (I have 2, one of them I can't find a reference for -3rd), and the photo I attached is a copy of the 4th. I'm looking for THAT specific photo in Original Type 1 production. The 1931 Cleveland News Press said there are four or I would only have reference for the 3 I have located.

He also shot some photos that same day with his dogs "Beezer" and "Don" where his kids are running with him. I haven't located those yet either.

Bumping it up and added my current display so people can see what I'm looking to complete.

Thank you!

I have a friend with a large Thorpe collection. I'll see if he has seen this photo.

Thank you so very much. It's kind of a life mission to unite these four photos. I now have 3 of the 4 known ones of Billy & Phil. I tried to connect with the boys to return them to the family, but the last one passed in Waurika, OK a few years ago.

With some of our recent Thorpe additions, I thought I would throw this out there again. I know an Original Type 1 exists out there somewhere and I'd love to bring it home with it's 3 partners all housed in one collection.
