Could I please get a few references from you guys?

I'm doing a deal on a modern card. The seller dosen't know me because he doesn't collect tobacco cards. Could you guys give him some references for me please?

Leon if this is annoying or not allowed, feel free to delete it.

Thanks guys!

I have dealt with Luke on many occasions on both sides of transactions as a seller and buyer. Luke has proven to be an honest individual, he honors his word without exception. Shipping is always quick as is payment. As far as I'm concerned any transaction with him will go smoothly.

Pat R 04-24-2022 11:32 AM

Luke, you have my email if you want to give it to him to contact me as a reference feel free.

If he's looking for references in this thread I can add that you're at the top of my list of the most trustworthy people that I've dealt with in the hobby.

Luke is a great collector, a good guy, and a friend. We have done well over $30k of deals together over the years, including a 5 figure deal for a t206 Crawford Uzit, consummated less than a month ago

Easily one of my top 3 go-to guys in the hobby. Always easy to work with, nothing but smooth transactions.

Fair, honest, friendly, and he loves dogs!

Quite simply, the best.

Have purchased a handful of items from Luke over the years (few examples below), and sold to him as well. Always smooth transactions!

stutor 04-24-2022 02:10 PM

Luke is one of the good guys. I’ve traded with Luke and bought from him many times. He is as honest as they come.

Eddiez 04-24-2022 02:32 PM

I have bought from Luke a few times without any issues. Eddie

Brian Weisner 04-24-2022 02:50 PM

Be well Brian

Tyruscobb 04-24-2022 02:53 PM

I did a PayPal F/F transaction with him a few years ago. No problems!

vintagebaseballcardguy 04-24-2022 02:53 PM

Luke is top notch. You should have NO reservations whatsoever when dealing with him. Very helpful!!

Kawika 04-24-2022 03:23 PM

Mr Modern Collector: There are plenty of folks to buy and sell with who will irritate the shit out of you. Luke is definitely not one of them. We concluded a sale of a T206 Lajoie Old Mill back last year in a most cordial manner. My highest recommendation. Tell 'em Kawika sent ya.

Wanaselja 04-24-2022 05:26 PM

I’ve purchased multiple cards from Luke. Buy with confidence.

rjackson44 04-24-2022 05:31 PM

A legend

icurnmedic 04-24-2022 07:06 PM

Two high dollar transactions. No problems whatsoever. Feel free to pm if needed.

botport 04-24-2022 07:14 PM

100%

Always a good guy to deal with.

atx840 04-24-2022 08:08 PM

Luke is one of the most genuine, honest collectors I know in the hobby. We have done a handful of deals over the years and all have gone smoothly. Luke is as good as it gets!

Highly recommend as a buyer or seller.

Luke, when you say "modern", are you talking about a 1956 Topps Yogi Berra, or a Jeremy Pena rookie refractor?

wolf441 04-24-2022 09:00 PM

Luke is one of the best, most knowledgeable collectors around!!! I'd trust him with my sister (she's 71 and weighs 210 lbs, but still... :D)

Peter_Spaeth 04-24-2022 09:02 PM

More people clearly need to weigh in here.:D

mikemcgrail 04-25-2022 01:38 AM

I have done deals with Luke and they all went smooth. Good communication and he does what he says. Recommended!

Chuck Norris (Luke Lyon) Jokes

Luke Lyon doesn’t read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Luke Lyon.

If you spell Luke Lyon in Scrabble, you win. Forever.

Luke Lyon breathes air … five times a day.

In the Beginning there was nothing … then Luke Lyon roundhouse kicked nothing and told it to get a job.

When God said, “Let there be light!” Luke said, “Say Please.”

Luke Lyon has a mug of nails instead of coffee in the morning.

The dinosaurs looked at Luke Lyon the wrong way once. You know what happened to them.

Luke Lyon’s tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried.

(Yeah, Luke is Aces).

I feel like starting a thread for references for me!
I just received 2 cards from Luke (hi Luke) yesterday...
.

frankbmd 04-27-2022 08:01 AM

Luke once sent me 50 T206 rigid card holders.

When they arrived, the cards were missing.

When Luke got my payment envelope, it was empty as well.:D

I still think the most brilliant Chuck Norris joke along these lines is that he could slam a revolving door.

That's a good one...Or...that he can parallel park a Train! :)

Brian Van Horn 04-27-2022 10:30 AM

Luke is a First (capitalization intentional) class buyer and seller.

Thank you,

Brian Van Horn

earlywynnfan 04-27-2022 10:48 AM

Gee, I have never dealt with Luke, and now I'm feeling depressed about it!!

Luke 04-27-2022 12:31 PM

Wow, thanks so much everyone. It was very nice to read all these kind words.

Rob, I think I'd get kicked off the forum if I said exactly what I was buying, but it's a lot closer to the Pena than the Berra :)

Kevin 04-27-2022 12:57 PM

Like, let me know what you need regarding references. You got my whole hearted seal of approval. Or only on deals, but just shooting the breeze…
