Opinion on authenticity

In preparing for Bobby’s new piggyback submission group, I began going through my raw 1960s cards today. I came across two raw 1963 Sandy Koufax cards - #136.
I never noticed it before, but one card looks different from the other. The second card’s image is a little darker. You can also see darker shaded areas on his jersey. I’ve seen a few other cards like this for sale on a certain auction cite. Is this a printing variation or is the card a reprint? I’m pretty sure the top card is authentic. I appreciate any assistance or opinions you all can provide. I hope everyone is safe and well in these crazy times. Thanks. |
Very tiny images. You need to upload them at full size to some image site, then post the links here.

I’m technologically challenged, and will have to figure out how to do that. Thanks.

The pics are small, but there is a check you can do easily.
Most fakes are printed on computer printers, and all areas will have a very fine dot pattern. Originals will show black areas especially as solid color. There was a lot of variance in how dark the black ink was. Some is solid black some a less solid black. They can sometimes be found with a nearly transparent gray. If you look at the score printed in the baseball, it should be some version of a solid black printing on both. |
