Yes, the redemption cards were pack inserted. The ones with Certified on them were returned by Topps with the complete set redemption and are more common, but you can't get those from packs. You can find them in collections though.

recently got some of these. didn't find any ABCD, but did find an AB. thanks again for the info.

I know those both exist, and can buy at least the WS Ripken on eBay...but for me, it is the chase that matters and wanting to pull one of our a pack. Same with the Johnson.

I agree. Particularly with the Clearest version of 1989 Fleer Randy Johnson Marlboro. With only two cards known to exist of this version this is the under the radar wild card of the 80s. I'm convinced the card value could someday be six figures plus if people start thinking about it in the context of today's cards and recognize it as an extremely rare parallel rookie card of one of the best pitchers of all time. Of course I'm biased. Still addicted to the card though and continue to search it out (along with the blue tint version).

Sounds like you should start a Youtube channel, a cook group, and a 3,000 post thread on PSA's message board and in this alternate universe 2020, it should happen in a couple of months. Merry Christmas!

I don't know that I've seen one. But things you don't have going for you:
1) Most people don't realize the Johnson Marlboro "error" exists.
2) Cigarette smoking isn't as interesting as curse words.
3) If there are only 2 known, they can't really be shill bid up and traded heavily.
4) Doesn't have a long history of being looked for (like FF and NNOF Thomas).

There goes John being the optimist again :) ;)

The key word was someday. That said, I'd pay up to 10k today if I could find another graded one for sale. Beyond that who knows where things will be in 20 years but that's my uneducated guess:). If we can't have fun with this why bother. Completely get this one may not be your cup of tea.

Still looking for these cards from the 2006 A&G set. Some of them I probably won't ever see in my lifetime but it was fun putting together a list.

2006 Allen & Ginter
1. ANY printing plates
2. ANY framed originals (1800's buyback cards)
3. Arod Mini Red Ink Auto /10
4. Rip cards (Dontrelle Willis and Robinson Cano)
5. Any one of the personalized postcard 1/1's (long shot but might as well add it to the list)
6. NCC Promotional Mini Cards (Matt Leinart)
7.EXT Mini’s (Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter, Derek Lee, Ichiro, Johan Santana, Josh Gibson, Ken Griffey Junior, Mickey Mantle, Miguel Cabrera, Mike Piazza, Roberto Clemente, Roger Clemens, Scott Rolen)
8. Any other promotional items from that year; pamphlets, etc.

Man, how fun! I saw this thread and figured I posted in it before.

Here is what I said in 2015:

1989 Donruss & Leaf Blue Chips
1990 Donruss Aqueous
1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold
1997 Pinnacle Totally Certified Platinum Gold
1998 Donruss Crusade Red

I now have ALL of them! BUT it wasn't without drama - I got rid of all and then got them back. In fact, I think there is literally one other person on the planet who has the run of these like I do. Here is what I want next:

1998 Pinnacle certified mirror blue
1998 Pinnacle certified mirror gold
Any older 1/1s, patch / rarities, etc. of Canseco.

i'm terrible at the tech stuff, but think this posted right. 1994 collector's choice prize winner card. anyone seen these around? just pulled it from an old box.

swarmee 09-12-2020 10:37 AM

You did upload it, but it's now really small since you were trying to resize. Is the item actually square, as it looks?

2nd try

Does it say what was won? It would be worth more with a real player on it instead of a mannequin.

an 8 card 1993 home run all-star set

swarmee 09-12-2020 12:09 PM

Well, there are a bunch of those (30-50 copies each) of the Home Run cards on COMC, so the redemption cards must have been pretty common.

These averaged one per box, not rare at all. I believe there were much scracer prize cards that got you on a card with Griffey, etc (see packaging) but these were super common.
