Hassan Cigs. T-73 issue. 1910 or 1914 ??

Posted By: LEE
Hello All

My question concerns the Hassan cigarette issue T-73 "Indians life in the 1860s"
They measure 2-1/2 x 3-1/4 in.

I`ve seen these listed by some as 1910 and by others as 1914 ? Which is correct ?

I was somewhat surprised to find out as an early tobacco issue they were a standard size card.

Thank you, Lee

Posted By: jay behrens
As far as I know, the cards are from 1910. If you are working on the set, there are 2 variations if you want a master set. It's a great set of cards with some decent art work. I think I still have a few floating around.

Jay

I've just reached Upper Lower Class. Posted By: jay behrens
Two of the cards have the captions reversed. I don't have a checklist handy and I never catalogued this set on my set. If you eve need info on vintage Indian sets, check out my site. I have checklists and pictures of a lot of sets there. The site hasn't been updated in awhile since I no longer collect the cards, but it is the only resource of its type on the internet.

http://webpages.charter.net/sabrjay/

Jay

I've just reached Upper Lower Class. Posted By: jay behrens
I think that is one of them. It's a set I never really pursued, that's the reason I never put much on my site about the set. The set did intrigue me, but I was too busy trying to finish my Ganong, e49 and e50 sets buying any n36 I saw to try and pursue this set. I think I still have a few Hassans around somewhere. If you are interested in what I still have left of my collection, drop me a line and I'll send you a list.

Jay

I've just reached Upper Lower Class. There are a number of sets from that era that are this size such as the t227s, Heroes of the World, Wonders of the World, etc

Jay

I've just reached Upper Lower Class.
