Boxing Exhibit Card Checklists?

Hi, all,

First post here. I'm looking for information on whether anyone has or can point me to checklists for Exhibits boxing cards from the 1930s, especially the "Nationalities" and "Hometown" runs. I've had a small handful of these for a number of years, and I'd like to properly ID them. I'm experienced in trading cards in general and have decent knowledge of baseball and movie-star ESCO releases, but these are outside my sphere. I have 10 of them, seven of which have the nationality or hometown added. All 10 have the same italic name treatment, though, and I'm familiar with how Exhibit cards were very fluid from run to run. I believe these date from roughly 1937-38 -- they were my dad's, and he was born in 1927.

Any info is appreciated. I've attached a link to a scan of a Primo Carnera (Italy) from the batch. He's probably the biggest name in the batch.

Thanks, Adam, for your response, but I'll have to pass on that. I can see it's likely the best book out there, but I don't really collect boxing cards and $24.99 plus s/h is way too much for me to spend just to identify 10 cards. Take care!

Haley, I believe you should live a little, and buy the book. It's only $25.

It also covers baseball, football, hockey, miscellaneous sports and Olympics Exhibit card issues.

My bookshelves are full and I just can't spare the space. Ta!

It is an awesome book. You could make up the cost with the sale of a single card.
