Posted By: John(z28jd)
Of course a Pirates fan would know, especially one that used to write for them(as i say patting myself on the back).
A game vs the cubs that started before he was called up,was postponed due to darkness with the score tied and was to be made up at a later date. That date being after he got called up,and when the game resumed he got the hit and rbi. I honestly cant tell you what day it was but i remember them saying that during the replay of the game. Something like "barry bonds who wasnt even with the team when this game started....."

The winning pitcher of the game was Barry Jones, who also gets credit for the win before he was called up to the majors later that season

Posted By: jay behrens
you are correct. The game started on April 20th and was resumed Aug 11th. Even though the game was completed on Aug 11th, it goes in the record books as a game played April 20th.

Jay

Posted By: Todd
On July 3, 1966 against San Francisco, he hit two grand slams in one game, the only man - no less the only pitcher - in NL history to do so.

Posted By: hrbaker
Tony Cloninger hit two HRs for the Braves (grand slams) and Rick Wise Homered twice and pitched a no-hitter for the Phillies I believe.
