1951 Topps red and blue back - game rules

Sorry if this has been asked before, i could not find anything in the searches.

The Topps 1951 red and blue back cards were released as a game. The game seemingly never took off but the cards remain part of history being one of the first releases from Topps.

Does anybody have the rules for the game? Was there a board or just draw up your own field and score box? Stack cards in the centre and take turns at flipping until 3 outs?

Thanks in advance

I have this unopened pack that has the board and set of the red back cards. It also has 6 Current or Connie Mack All Stars mixed in with the redback panels

This is beautiful but probably worth more than my house!

Dave, out of curiosity, what are the measurements of that Playing Field/Rules sheet? I assume that is just non-glossy heavy paper with a blank back?

Here is a sharper scan of the game board that I found in my files. Also stumbled upon therein some of the three rarities from the 1951 Topps MLAS set that I had forgotten about (just kidding :D).

The game board from the Ed-U-Cards set is essentially the same as the Red/Blue Backs board. It's a tri-folded (in both directions) sheet of paper and I only have the EUC version which measures roughly 2 5/8" x 2 15/16" folded (fold is not perfect) and 7" x 8 9/16" unfolded.

Thanks for the book plug guys and it can be d/l for free here: https://archive.org/details/ModernGu...blishedCopy2.2

Please note I am working on a second edition which will have a lot of updates and corrections. It may possibly be done this year (still awaiting two or three things I'd like to include) but more likely next, as I want to have it out before the 2025 National.

I'm curious as to what those game boards sell for. That would be a cool addition to my sets, since I don't have the resources for the team cards or the All Star cards.

Easier to find the boxed set, which has it, although this one is priced high:
