Ruth issues as a Brave

All I could think of was '35 Goudey and the R311 team shot.

What else is out there?

There are some pins also such as the 1935 Quaker Oats or the Jordan Marsh ones.

I believe the main issues with Ruth as a Brave was that he was old and overweight.

It really is too bad he didn't make it into the 36 Goudey set. That would have been a cool card.

That was good.

Let's have fun with stats...

'The Bambino' hit a total of 714 regular season home runs, yet only 6 of them were as a National Leaguer.

Conclusion: National League hurlers were infinitely better than their American League mound men counterparts. :D

Here’s the Jordan Marsh along with a newspaper clipping.

Half of his NL homers came on May 25th, 1935!

Yes, but those of us who appreciate snapshots don't care, and in some ways prefer it

tycobb 03-20-2024 03:24 PM

Also not a legit issue. A Type 2 that shows him in a Braves uniform .https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...61ba61350f.jpg

Well since we have veered off of cards. I will share my 2 Babe Ruth scorecards as a Brave. Scorecards from Ruth's brief time with the Braves are not easy to find. These 2 have Ruth facing Dizzy Dean. Ruth did not manage a single hit in the 2 games with 2 strikeouts in 6 at bats. Dizzy on the other hand Homered in the Braves home game May 5th 1935. The second game in St Louis was May 18th and Featured the full Gas House Gang Lineup Martin Frish Medwick Durocher with Dean on the mound. Quite the lineup at that point in the season the 9 players in the lineup were hitting .314 .... wow..
